Fried Frank Won’t Promote Gays: Ex-Associate

Law360, New York (February 11, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A former associate at Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson LLP has claimed that she was fired after asserting that the firm discriminated against her because of her sexual orientation.

Julie Kamps, who joined the firm as an associate in 1998, filed the complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on Monday and claims that the firm has refused to promote openly gay attorneys to partner and chose to fire her after she raised the issue.
