BCD Settles PI Patent Claims

Law360 (February 12, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Power Integrations Inc. and rival BCD Semiconductor Corp. have sheathed their swords and opted to settle a hard-fought dispute, with BCD vowing to withdraw from the U.S. market the chips allegedly covered by Power Integrations’ patents.

Under the consent judgment, filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, BCD makes no payment to Power Integrations, but agrees not to sell the products that resemble the patent holder’s “power dithering circuits” for end use in the U.S.
