CPSC Finalizes Lead Exemptions For Some Electronics

Law360 (February 12, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- To alleviate confusion over its new rules, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has passed an interim final rule making certain children's electronic products exempt from the stiff limits on lead that took effect Tuesday.

The new rule, announced Thursday, applies to products in which it is not technologically feasible to comply with the new lead limits and stringent testing requirements imposed by the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008.
