European Antitrust Regulators Eye Thule Merger

Law360, New York (August 16, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Commission is taking a closer look at a proposed merger between two of Europe’s largest snow-chain makers, after antitrust concerns gained traction during a preliminary regulatory review.

The Commission’s in-depth investigation, announced Wednesday, gives regulators 90 days to make a final determination on whether or not the merger between Sweden’s Thule AB and Austria’s Schneeketten Beteiligung AG would have a significant deleterious effect on competition in the relevant market.
