Judge Indicted In Scruggs Bribery Scandal

Law360, New York (February 13, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Mississippi judge whom infamous plaintiffs attorney Richard “Dickie” Scruggs allegedly tried to buy off with the promise of a federal bench appointment has been indicted for leaking information about an asbestos case to one of the attorneys on Scruggs' team.

On Thursday, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi unsealed the indictment of Hinds County Circuit Judge Bobby DeLaughter, revealing that he had been charged with conspiracy, mail fraud and obstruction.
