OFT, CC Outline Merger Review Protocol

Law360, New York (February 17, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Two United Kingdom competition regulators, the Office of Fair Trading and the Competition Commission, have released a report to give greater insight into their processes for reviewing mergers and monopolies.

While the roles of the two agencies are set out in the Enterprise Act of 2002 and the Fair Trading Act of 1973, the memorandum of understanding issued Friday aims to define more exactly the practical aspects of the working relationship between the two bodies.
