Manufacturers, Retailers, Importers — Beware CPSIA

Law360 (February 17, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- As of Feb. 10, 2009, the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (the “CPSIA”) imposed new limits on lead, phthalates and other substances in children’s and consumer products that affect thousands of retailers, importers and manufacturers.

The CPSIA fundamentally changed the scope and breadth of the well-known Consumer Product Safety Act (the “CPSA”).
