E.C. To Issue Gaz de France-Suez Report

Law360, New York (August 17, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two months after vowing to take a deeper look into the proposed Gaz de France-Suez merger, the European Commission is believed to be on the brink of delivering a report outlining the antitrust issues plaguing the controversial union.

Thierry Breton, France’s minister of finance, revealed the E.C.’s intent to publish a document regarding the energy companies’ potential merger in an interview with the newspaper Le Figaro.
