Deal Makers Buoyed After JPMorgan Forum Despite Clouds

By Tom Zanki (January 13, 2017, 9:09 PM EST) -- Deals lawyers say they emerged from JPMorgan's annual health care conference energized for an uptick in activity — in stark contrast to last year's gloomier vibe — despite the uncertainty that looms regarding the fate of Obamacare and the Trump administration's drug pricing policies.

The five-day networking gala, which drew executives, lawyers, bankers, investors and accountants from across the country eager to jumpstart deals, concluded Friday in San Francisco's Union Square neighborhood. Despite torrential downpours that dampened attendance at the event's outset, lawyers say they were generally happy with the progress.
