MasTec Told To Pay $1.5M For CWA Wrongs

Law360, New York (February 20, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has ordered MasTec Inc. to pay $1.5 million for alleged Clean Water Act violations incurred during the construction of a 60-mile natural gas pipeline in Oregon.

Judge Michael R. Hogan of the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon ruled Thursday that MasTec failed to minimize the environmental impact of the project and neglected to properly construct stream crossings for a 17-mile length of the pipeline it laid down in 2004.
