Omnicare Exec Charged With Medicaid Fraud

Law360, New York (August 17, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In the wolverine state’s largest ever health care crime, the president of a subsidiary of Omnicare Inc. was charged Wednesday with 148 criminal counts of Medicaid fraud which allegedly cost the state of Michigan about $5 million.

Attorney General Mike Cox announced the charges in the case against Daniel Lohmeier, the president of Omnicare’s Specialized Pharmacy unit since 1998. The case has taken three years of investigative work thus far.
