EU Lawmakers Told To Speed Up Securitization Market Revival
Law360, London (January 26, 2017, 2:43 PM GMT) -- The European Union's financial services commissioner urged the bloc's lawmakers on Thursday to hurry up and agree on securitization rules which have been bogged down by internal wrangling that's holding back the flagship capital markets union initiative.
European Commission Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis used a speech in Berlin to tell the EU Parliament it should finalize securitization rules that are essential for restarting the market, which has been in the doldrums since the 2008 financial crisis.
