WR Grace Hid Asbestos Risk At Mont. Mine: US

Law360 (February 24, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Bankrupt chemical maker W.R. Grace & Co. knew but concealed the fact that its mining operation in Libby, Mont., was exposing residents to asbestos, a federal prosecutor reportedly told jurors Monday during opening remarks in the criminal trial of the company and five of its former executives.

Grace “chose profits at the expenses of people's health and chose avoiding liability over disclosing health hazards to the government,” U.S. Attorney Kris McLean told the jury in the U.S. District Court for the District of Montana, according to...
