Standard Bank Suit V. Aussi Insurer Sent To Oz

Law360, New York (February 25, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Australian insurer Vero Insurance Ltd. has won a bid to dismiss a declaratory judgment suit filed by U.K.-based Standard Bank PLC to compel coverage, upholding a clause in the bank's professional indemnity policy that requires disputes to be tried under Australian law.

Judge Philip Brimmer dismissed the case without prejudice from the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado on Tuesday due to a clause in an insurance policy that required that the claims be disputed under Australian law.
