ABA Prez Calls On Attys To Defend Courts From Attack

By Carolina Bolado (February 6, 2017, 3:30 PM EST) -- American Bar Association President Linda Klein called attorneys to arms Monday to defend democracy, the rule of law and the judiciary's independence after President Donald Trump attacked the federal judge who blocked his immigration ban.

Klein, a Baker Donelson Bearman Caldwell & Berkowitz PC shareholder, took the podium at the ABA's House of Delegates Midyear Meeting in Miami and told members — who responded with rousing applause and a standing ovation — that the work of lawyers is especially vital now. She called on them to defend due process and judicial integrity.
