Fireball Maker Sues Over 'Mad Hen' Whiskey

By Bill Donahue (February 15, 2017, 8:15 PM EST) -- Sazerac, the distiller behind Fireball whiskey, accused a Florida spirits company Wednesday of gearing up to launch a product that closely mimics the trade dress of the popular cinnamon liquor.

Sazerac says a planned "Mad Hen" product (right) will infringe the trade dress for the company's popular Fireball. Sazerac Brands LLC says Caribbean Distillers LLC is planning to launch a "Mad Hen" line of similar, cinnamon-flavored whiskey in a bottle and label that highly resemble those used for Fireball, one of the top-selling liquor brands in the country.
