U.K. Airlines Call For Further Look Into BAA

Law360, New York (August 21, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- As the Office of Fair Trading begins its study of the British airports market, Virgin Atlantic is expected to recommend that the watchdog launch a Competition Commission inquiry into embattled airports group BAA Plc.

On Monday, Virgin Atlantic was on the brink of making such a request as part of its submission to the OFT study, according to The Times.

Insiders say that while Virgin may not go so far as to call for a dismantling of the airports operator, the airline is expected to demand...
