DOJ Taps Economist As Assistant Attorney General

Law360 (August 21, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Moving to bolster its ranks, the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division said Friday it has appointed noted economist Dennis W. Carlton to serve as the department’s deputy assistant attorney general for economic analysis.

"We are privileged to have such a preeminent and respected leader in the economic field join the Antitrust Division," said Thomas O. Barnett, assistant attorney general for the DOJ. "Dennis will bring a wealth of experience and insight to our team, and we all look forward to working with him."
