Microsoft Ready To Roll Out New Windows For Korea

Law360, New York (August 22, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Temporarily throwing in the towel, Microsoft Corp. has announced that it will launch two Korean versions of its Windows operating system in order to comply with a looming deadline set by the country’s antitrust regulator.

Microsoft has until August 24 to start selling Windows software either by unbundling Media Player and Messenger or carrying Web links for downloading competitors' software, according to a decision handed down by Korea’s Fair Trade Commission.
