Wells Fargo Battles Sanctions Bid In Film Funding Suit

Law360, New York (March 13, 2017, 1:39 PM EDT) -- Wells Fargo told a Florida federal court on Friday that an investment company is inaccurately portraying it as an uncooperative abuser of the discovery process, saying it shouldn’t be sanctioned in the suit alleging it made a fraudulent scheme for film financing seem legitimate.

The bank and its brokerage arm, Wells Fargo Advisors LLC, fought Adana Investing Inc.’s assertion that they withheld crucial documents and the identities of potential key witnesses until the last hours of discovery, arguing that they diligently worked to hand over evidence...
