Deals Rumor Mill: Walgreens, Neiman Marcus, Sealed Air

By Benjamin Horney (March 14, 2017, 5:32 PM EDT) -- Walgreens Boots Alliance is on the verge of inking a deal to sell additional assets to fellow pharmacy operator Fred's Inc. as it attempts to earn regulatory approval for its acquisition of Rite Aid Corp., Bloomberg reported on Tuesday. According to the report, Walgreens is in the final stages of negotiations to sell more stores to Fred's, as well as distribution centers, software and personnel. The companies previously agreed to a $950 million deal that saw Fred's acquire 865 Rite Aid stores and certain related assets. Walgreens' Rite Aid takeover was announced in October 2015. In late January, the company delayed the deal's closing in order to work on gaining the Federal Trade Commission's approval....
