Ex-Sullivan Attys Ask SEC Nominee To Rebuke Travel Ban

Law360, New York (March 17, 2017, 10:54 PM EDT) -- Twenty-seven former Sullivan & Cromwell LLP attorneys have written to President Donald Trump’s pick to chair the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, a partner at the firm, to ask him to speak out against the president’s travel ban executive orders.

In their letter Thursday a week before the confirmation hearing, the lawyers wrote to Jay Clayton to ask him to oppose the executive orders against people from several Muslim-majority countries, orders that have so far faced a rocky road in the courts.
