Trump's DOL To Embrace 'Humility,' Acting Solicitor Says

By Jimmy Hoover (March 17, 2017, 4:34 PM EDT) -- The new acting solicitor of labor revealed a more compliance-focused agenda for the agency under President Donald Trump on Friday, stressing the need for "a little bit more humility" at the Labor Department following its heavy enforcement and regulatory activity during the Obama administration.

In his first public remarks since taking on the role, acting Solicitor Nicholas Geale said that the department is going to "listen to the regulated community a little more" under the new administration, and offer employers, particularly small ones, more opportunities to come into regulatory compliance before lodging enforcement actions.
