Trump Names New Chief Judge For Federal Claims Bench

By Cara Bayles (March 21, 2017, 9:03 PM EDT) -- President Donald Trump has announced his pick for chief judge of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims is Susan G. Braden, a former Baker & McKenzie LLP attorney with intellectual property expertise who has served on the court since 2003.

The promotion, announced March 17, means the President George W. Bush appointee to the court has replaced Patricia Elaine Campbell-Smith, a President Barack Obama appointee who was designated chief judge in October 2013, shortly after she was appointed to the court.
