Flush With Cash, EU Office Reduces Trademark Fees

Law360, New York (March 11, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- With a budget surplus of more than €300 million and counting, the EU's trademark office is preparing to cut the cost of Europe-wide trademark protection by more than 40 percent.

Under a plan approved by the EU's 27 member states, the €850 registration fee for a Community trade mark will be eliminated.
