Breast Implant Case Preempted By Riegel: Judge

Law360, New York (March 12, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Citing preemption by federal law, a federal judge has dismissed a products liability case against Allergan Inc. accusing the company of making silicone breast implants that were unreasonably dangerous.

Saying that Susan Dorsey's complaint is preempted by federal law, Judge Robert L. Echols on Wednesday granted the defendants' motion for summary judgment in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.
