Judge OKs Syntax-Brillian's Disclosure Statement

Law360, New York (March 12, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A bankruptcy judge overseeing the Chapter 11 case of Syntax-Brillian Corp. has signed off on the disclosure statement accompanying the television manufacturer's second amended liquidating plan, which gives its prepetition lenders a $125 million claim and allows its equity interests a very slim chance of recovery.

In an order issued Thursday, Judge Brendan Shannon of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware approved the statement and set an April 21 date for a hearing to consider confirmation of the plan.
