Fed. Circ. Won't Review One-Line Order Policy For Patents

By Kelcee Griffis (May 3, 2017, 3:30 PM EDT) -- The Federal Circuit on Wednesday denied requests for panel and en banc rehearings after it upheld a Patent Trial and Appeal Board decision that invalidated part of two Leak Surveys Inc. patents, rejecting Leak's arguments that the court was obligated to release an opinion on the issue.

The two-page order lets stand a victory for Oregon camera company and accused infringer FLIR Systems Inc. and sidesteps Leak's contentions that the court's one-line order declining to disturb the PTAB's ruling was "unsuitable."
