Mott's Sued Over 'Natural' Label On Goods With Pesticides
Law360, New York (May 5, 2017, 4:25 PM EDT) -- Consumer advocacy group Beyond Pesticides sued Dr. Pepper Snapple Group unit Mott’s in District of Columbia court on Friday, saying that “natural” labeling on applesauce products with pesticides is likely to deceive consumers who are looking to minimize the amount of pesticides they consume.
The group is bringing the suit under the District of Columbia Consumer Protection Procedures Act. It says Mott’s applesauce and applesauce products have toxic pesticides in them and that consumers are likely to think they don’t when they see language like “all natural” on the label.
