House Passes Patent-Judge Pilot Program Bill

Law360, New York (March 18, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. House of Representatives has passed a bill that would create a pilot program aimed at enhancing the expertise of federal judges who hear patent cases.

H.R. 628, “To establish a pilot program in certain United States district courts to encourage enhancement of expertise in patent cases among district judges,” passed in a 409-7 House vote on Tuesday. 15 representatives abstained from voting.
