Bankruptcy, Weather Stall CERCLA Cleanups: Report

Law360 (March 19, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Climate change and corporate bankruptcy pose an unprecedented threat to the cleanup efforts at hundreds of Superfund program sites, according to a recent report.

The study, “Superfund: In the Eye of the Storm,” released Thursday by environmental organization The Center for Health, Environment and Justice, examines recent weather events that have damaged some Superfund sites and corporate bankruptcies that have downloaded cleanup costs onto the program.
