Delaware Primed For IP Case Bump Despite Bench Vacancies

Law360, Wilmington (May 22, 2017, 9:07 PM EDT) -- The Delaware District Court may have two of its four full-time seats vacant, but there is high confidence throughout the First State's bar that the system is ready to handle an expected influx of patent litigation from the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling Monday in the TC Heartland case.

The high court's 8-0 ruling restricting where patent owners can file an infringement lawsuit is expected to push a hefty number of such cases to Delaware, the country's No. 1 place of incorporation, adding to a swollen docket in the First State's district court that is already one of the busiest.
