Acer Recalls Gaming PCs, Citing Possible Burn Hazard

Law360, New York (March 20, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Computer vendor Acer America Corp. has issued a voluntary recall of over 200 gaming computers amid fears that the units can overheat and pose a burn hazard to users.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall, which applies to around 215 Acer Predator desktop computers, on Thursday.

According to CPSC, the insulation on the computer’s internal wiring can become bent or stripped, causing the wires to overheat while the product is in use.
