EU Targets Possible PVC Heat Stabilizer Cartel

Law360, New York (March 23, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Commission has launched an investigation into a possible cartel of companies that produce chemicals added to polyvinyl chloride products in order to make them more heat resistant.

The EC sent statements of objections regarding possible violations of European Union laws governing restrictive business practices to the potential cartel participants in March, the antitrust regulator announced Monday, though it declined to identify which companies it had targeted for the probe.
