Chancery Orders Fierce TransPerfect Dispute Into Mediation

Law360, Wilmington (June 2, 2017, 9:08 PM EDT) -- A Delaware Chancery judge ordered both sides in the rancorous dispute over legal translation firm TransPerfect, which he ordered be sold to break a deadlock between its warring founders, into mediation Friday under former Chancellor William B. Chandler III with hopes of finally solving the litigation firestorm engulfing the company.

The order from Chancellor Andre G. Bouchard came during a hearing in Wilmington over whether Shirley Shawe, the mother of one of the battling co-founders who is also a 1-percent shareholder in the company, can force a stockholder meeting where she claims she would vote her shares with her son’s rival...
