Cruise Operator Accused Of Racism In Firing Muslims

Law360, New York (August 29, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Norwegian Cruise Line Ltd. is guilty of racial and religious discrimination in its decision to fire a slew of crewmembers, according to a federal civil rights lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

According to the complaint, the Miami-based subsidiary of the Norwegian company illegally fired seven Muslim crewmembers over the past two years due to their nationalities and religion.
