EPA Probing Alleged Collusion Between Ex-Staffer, Monsanto
By Kat Sieniuc (June 8, 2017, 6:14 PM EDT) -- The Environmental Protection Agency's inspector general is looking into allegations that an EPA employee colluded with Monsanto to conduct a biased review of the pesticide glyphosate, the agency has said.
The preliminary inquiry into "several agency glyphosate review-related matters" comes after congressional and other requests to look into the matter, EPA Inspector General Arthur Elkins Jr. said in a letter last week.
Elkins' office, which confirmed the probe to Law360 on Thursday, stressed that it is not the same as a criminal investigation.
