Susman Godfrey Sets New High Bar For Associate Pay

Law360, Los Angeles (June 8, 2017, 8:58 PM EDT) -- Susman Godfrey LLP has shattered the paradigm for associate pay, saying Thursday it was "breaking the market" by offering up to $125,000 in sign-on bonus money to incoming lawyers in a move the firm says it hopes will attract the best talent.

The already-selective firm will pay a $25,000 bonus to lawyers taking offers of future employment at the firm, in addition to its currently offered $80,000 bonus for attorneys who clerked for one federal judge, and a total of $100,000 if they clerked for two,...
