Cops Allege Discrimination After Teen Shooting

Law360, New York (August 30, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two Cleveland police detectives who shot and killed a 15-year-old robbery suspect have sued the city, alleging it discriminated against them by forbidding them to return to their jobs for nine months.

Detectives Phillip Habeeb and John Kraynik filed the lawsuit Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. They are asking for $2 million.

According to the lawsuit, the detectives were executing a search warrant on Sept. 1, 2005 while investigating a string of robberies of pizza-delivery men.
