DC Court Picks Face Senate Panel Ahead Of ABA Report
Law360, Washington (June 28, 2017, 4:35 PM EDT) -- Two of President Donald Trump’s picks to fill vacant seats on the D.C. District Court faced a Senate panel Wednesday amid Democrats’ concern that the American Bar Association had not finished its evaluation of the pair.
Judicial nominees Timothy Kelly, chief counsel for national security and senior crime counsel to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, and Trevor McFadden of the U.S. Department of Justice criminal division were named earlier this month and brought to the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing before the ABA could finish its customary evaluation of them.
