Groups Urge Caution In Raising Ethanol Blend Caps

Law360 (March 27, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A group of businesses, environmentalists, taxpayers and public health activists are urging the Obama administration to oppose increasing caps on the amount of ethanol that can be blended with regular gasoline until scientists confirm the higher levels are safe.

More than 50 companies, nonprofits and other groups signed a letter Thursday asking top administration officials to ensure midlevel ethanol blends would not pose a risk to all gasoline-powered engines, public health, the environment or consumers.
