DC Circ. Judge Janice Rogers Brown To Retire

Law360, New York (July 11, 2017, 11:58 AM EDT) -- Judge Janice Rogers Brown will retire from the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, paving the way for President Donald Trump to appoint a new member to the nation's second-highest court. 

Judge Brown, 68, told court officials that she will be stepping down from the 11-member body effective Aug. 31, bringing her 12-year tenure on the powerful appellate court to a close, according to a statement released Monday by the circuit court.

Judge Brown will not seek senior status, the statement said....
