Acacia Unit Sues P&G Over Videoconference Patent

Law360 (March 30, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals Inc., HSBC USA Inc., Wachovia Corp. and others have been sued by a unit of patent-holding company Acacia Research Corp. for allegedly infringing a patent on videoconferencing systems.

The complaint, filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware by Acacia subsidiary Teleconference Systems LLC, also targets Baxter Healthcare Corp., Applied Materials Inc., Staples Inc., Cabela's Inc. and Enbridge Holdings LLC.

Teleconference Systems is accusing the defendants of infringing U.S. Patent Number 6,980,526, titled “Multiple subscriber video conferencing system.”...
