EU Rejects Appeal For Credit Rating Agency Registration

Law360, London (July 20, 2017, 3:57 PM BST) -- The European Union’s top financial services regulators rejected an appeal by FinancialCraft Analytics to be granted registration as a credit rating agency on Thursday, confirming an earlier decision by the bloc’s securities watchdog.

The European Securities and Markets Authority refused to authorize Polish firm FinancialCraft Analytics Sp. z o.o. — formerly named Global Rating Sp. z o.o. — after concluding that it had failed to show it would comply with EU credit rating agency rules introduced in the wake of the financial crisis.
