E.C. Gives Spain More Time To Reply To Endesa Bid

Law360, New York (August 31, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Commission has granted the Spanish government additional time to file a response to the E.C.’s decision to eliminate certain terms the Spanish energy regulator imposed on E.On’s bid to acquire Endesa SA, the country’s largest utility.

Heeding requests from Spain, a Commission spokesperson said Thursday that it has postponed the deadline for Spain to respond to its preliminary considerations from Sept. 4 to Sept. 13.
