Draft Bill Calls For Greenhouse Gas Cuts Of 83%

Law360 (March 31, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Reps. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., and Edward Markey, D-Mass., released a draft climate change bill on Tuesday that called for greenhouse gas emissions to be cut 83 percent by 2050 while creating jobs and protecting U.S. companies and consumers.

The 648-page draft bill, known as the American Clean Energy and Security Act, was divided into four sections: clean energy, energy efficiency, reducing global warming pollution and transitioning to a clean energy economy.
