EU Weighs Plan For Cheaper Cross-Border Payments

Law360, London (July 24, 2017, 3:45 PM BST) -- The European Commission is seeking views on how it can lower the costs of cross-border payments within the European Union in currencies other than the euro, with the launch of a public survey on Monday.

The call for information follows the commission’s announcement in March that it will propose legislation to reduces charges for cross-border transactions in all member states. It said the feedback from the latest questionnaire will help it define the “best way forward.”
