Pfizer Wins Another Battle In Norvasc War

Law360 (September 1, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two weeks after a jury ruled unanimously in its favor, Pfizer Inc. has chalked up another victory in its crusade to protect its blockbuster blood pressure medication, Norvasc, from a generic challenge.

On Friday, the pharmaceutical giant revealed that a North Carolina federal court judge had upheld its patent covering amlodipine besylate, the active ingredient found in Norvasc.
