USTR Prepares Annual Review Of Duty-Free Import Program

Law360, New York (August 10, 2017, 12:09 PM EDT) -- The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative has begun its annual review of a government program that extends tariff relief to producers in developing countries, the agency revealed Thursday.

As required by law, USTR has sought public comments on the Generalized System of Preferences, GSP, including whether new imports should be given duty-free treatment or whether certain countries are doing enough to maintain their eligibility for the program.
