Opioid Distributors Facing 10 New Suits In Ala., Ohio

Law360, New York (August 17, 2017, 5:22 PM EDT) -- Ten counties and cities in Alabama and Ohio have sued AmerisourceBergen Drug Corp., Cardinal Health Inc. and McKesson Corp. in federal court since late July for their alleged role in fueling the opioid crisis, with each suit claiming that the wholesale distributors failed to report suspicious orders. 

These suits are targeting “the source of the problem” by going straight to the distributors instead of the drug manufacturers, said Burton LeBlanc of Baron & Budd, one member of the team of attorneys bringing all of the litigation.
